Spring cleaning
OK I know it's still winter "down under" but spring is only a couple of months away, and today feels like spring. The wind is energising, the sun is shining, the wind chimes are singing. It's a glorious day to be doing stuff. Well I think it is at any rate.
We've been busy today, we had to be in town early to speak to the car people, so not much of a lie in for a saturday morning. But that's ok - there's always tomorrow. Then - shopping, hair cuts and home to unpack. Then I cleaned something that has bothered me for a while. Where my desk is, there is a half wall in front of me, and one that I use as a bookshelf. Most of the books had their spines facing away from me, and the ones that were facing me, didn't have the right kind of energy - I know, sometimes I can be a little strange. But some of the titles were not written in the "positive" and that had been bothering me. So I moved them, changing them for titles that did inspire. Ones that I also need - a dictionary, a book of quotations, books on writing etc etc. Simple but effective change to my working environment and now I "feel" better.
Sometimes you don't need to make massive changes to your life and your environment to inspire you to do more. What's bothering you about your current working/living environment? What changes can you make today to make a difference to the way you feel? Then make them. In order to overcome the procrastination habit you do need to do as well as think about doing, or read about doing.
