Starting one job created ten more
Have you noticed that when you start one job, you end up making more mess than when you first started?
I have never been able to just clear out one drawer or one bit of cupboard without generating more jobs for myself. My daughter needed a new laundry hamper, (her's was a bit worn out) - and discovered all sorts of things hiding in boxes from various moves we've made over the years. Whilst I did manage to make the replacement item, I also ended up clearing out the two boxes, throwing away bagful's of detrius, and sorting the keep items into proper storage. Yes I know that the job is now done, and I can now find things I thought I had lost. It's also disappointing to think that I am not as organised as i thought i was.
But I also know that it has saved me a lot of money in buying replacement things, namely buttons, zips and catches - you know - those things you buy and put in a safe place?
But with my sewing room taking shape, I am moving more than one project forward. For instance, having set up my sewing machine where I can use it, I have been able to mend a pile of items, and I can start replacing all the soft furnishiings that need to be replaced. One project at a time, one item at a time. My lists are getting smaller :-)
